MMI reboot issue

Hi all.. I have a 2018 Q7; great car.. Love it.. Recently my navigation system MMI screen shuts down then reboots itself.
This can be quite dis-concerning when driving along.. Audi dealership says they cannot recreate problem.. Anybody else hear of this

Yes this has happened to me along with the backup camera view constantly resetting itself to the default view. Next time it happens take a video and show it to your service advisor.

I have a 6 month old Q8, I also experienced the same issue of the nav continually rebooting. It then progressed to the whole system shutting down, no music, nav, aircon, phone, driving settings etc, just ignition, brakes and lights. Been with Audi for 3 weeks, to date no estimate when it will be fixed. Audi offered me a Hertz rental! To date no one has even offered an apology. This is my first Audi, I also have a Porshe Panamera and Merc C300 Cabriolet. Audi after sale service is appalling.

I have a 2021 A8L 2 weeks old and have the same issues with the MMI shutting down. Audi service has no clue how to fix it.

MMI reboot & Initialize problem - I have a 21 SQ8 with 3K miles, MMI has initialized randomly once, and is now in a second cycle, which is ongoing after two days.

MMI/instrumentation failure in a $100K + car is a manufacturing defect, and a safety risk. Random electrical problems do not go away.

Please forward any experience you have with as much detail as you like.

I intend to file with NHSTA, Audi, and begin Lemon Law proceedings. Every individual incident pushes Audi to take responsibility for their product.

It's my fourth Audi, I love the cars; but accountability is required.

I had major issues with a 2021 A8L that started with the MMI rebooting often then it got a lot worse and one day while driving on a major Highway I received all kinds of alarms that scared the heck out of my Wife and I. Some of the alarms were serious to include Safety system malfunction, Audi pre-sense, SOS Emergency assist, Transmission and many others. I managed to limp home, but had it towed to the dealer and they worked with Germany to find out it was a defective Airbag module. After that it was okay for a little while then started again. I contacted Audi North America and they were excellent. It takes awhile, but I did end up trading it out for a new A8L. If you haven't started a case with them yet I recommend you start there. Call them at 1-800-822-2834 to start documenting issues. Audi made me a happy customer again, but it does take a few months.

Just picked up 2021 Q8 with 5,200 miles. 5 days in all center console screens are black not even a warning message appears. MMI Reboot from steering wheel does not work and I was told prepare for long time in rental car because they may have to replace entire console. Probably sitting in a shipping container off California. Just bummed so excited to have a new car after 2010 Rover. Audi can't get me in for a month beginning of December.

I have a Q7 from 2017 and i have the same problem with the MMI, it keeps rebooting, but i observed that this is happening when i drive in the city, when i am on the highway, long distances it is ok, not once, the audi dealership said that the alternator , that charges the battery, does not have time to charge, and sometimes the car cuts the power (i don t know the explication) of the mmi , they said that the battery is worn and i should replace it. I did replace the battery today and guess what?)) same thing... i went everywhere, i also have a A6 allroad from 2007 - 3.0 , never had an issue.... i love Audi , but this is bad.
